The Southern Cyprus region:
Cyprus is an alluring isle with somthing for everyone. Laze the days away in the hot sunshine, bathe in the clear Mediterranean waters and explore the wealth of archaeological treasures for which the island is known. Why do people that have been to Cyprus refer to it as a jewel? Transparent seas, beautiful beaches and clear sunny skies are, of course, some of its precious qualities. In addition to its sparkle the island also has an inner glow.

A comfortable change from every day stress, this hospitable country is a place where tranquillity reigns. It is the island of Aphrodite goddess of beauty and fertility, a place with a rich history with monuments stretching back 10,000 years. Spectacular amphitheatres, superb Roman mosaics and award winning Byzantine churches are all within easy access from the main resorts of Cyprus. The island is easily accessible with more direct air connections offered this year than ever before.

The island - in the Mediterranean's southeast corner - is a major tourist centre and as such the doors remain open all year long. Yet despite the fact that things work smoothly, the pace of life is relaxed. There are many important archaeological and cultural heritage sites on the island, as well as museums and other attractions. Close to Protaras is the Cape Greco Nature Reserve which is well worth a visit.

Whatever you choose to do, you can rest assured you'llbe able to do it in calm surroundings. You may visit ancient ruins or modern day wineries, go horse riding, or wander in the Troodos Mountains.

Protaras/Pernera area:
Officially part of Protaras and even Paralimni, Pernera is a town unto itself. Only a short 2 minute walk from the villa and you'll find an abundance of shops, pubs, restaurants and supermarkets with everthing, including UK branded goods, plus a number of stunning beaches and quaint bays. Approximately 2km away is Paralimni, probably the fastest growing town in Cyprus. Here you will find a blend of the traditional and not so traditional. Tavernas and cafes are plenty but they are often tucked away so explore the side roads. Protaras is bigger than it looks stretching from Cape Greco through Green Bay to Protaras town centre and onto the Pernera area, a resort in itself, finishing as far up as Kapparis, again it's own little resort. Ayia Napa, the gateway to the lost city of Atlantis, caters for all ages and tastes. Here you'll find an endless choice of restaurants of every cuisine, tradional pubs, discos for the night owls and themed bars and cafes.

If you are planning a trip to Cyprus to attend a wedding the villa is close to many of the local hotels that specialise in wedding ceremonies and functions, an ideal place to relax before and after the big day.
